Mortality Rate

Mortality rate, often referred to as death rate. It refers to the number of deaths in a given population over a given period of time. It is usually expressed as an annual rate per 1,000 people. This is an important demographic and public health indicator. It helps to measure the overall health status of a community or nation. Mortality rates are classified into different types. Such as infant mortality (deaths of children under one year of age), maternal mortality (deaths related to pregnancy and childbirth), and age-specific mortality (deaths within a certain age range).
